Roger Mayne

The Photographers Gallery London is currently showing a collection of the work of of Roger Mayne (1929–2014) 3rd March until June 11th.

The novelist Colin MacInnes asked Mayne to contribute the cover shot for Absolute Beginners (1959), which is set in the area around Southam Street London W10. The Southam Street collection is now held by the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. Link

Most of Southam Street was demolished in 1969 to make way for Trellick Tower; a small section still exists.
